Don’t miss a beat! April 30 through May 9

ArtBeat Greensboro 2010 is here, April 30-May 9! It’s the annual event when our professional and community arts organizations collide in a mash-up of performing and fine arts. ArtBeat Greensboro founders Eastern Music Festival, Greensboro Symphony and Triad Stage host key events and support a raft of community partners in bringing together a “10-day week” of community entertainment and fun.

Eastern Music Festival (EMF) is bringing in some heavy hitters for 2010, with performances by Professor Jazz, An evening with flatpicking masters Larry Keel and Adam Aijala, and on the classical end, Pamela Howland’s Remembering Frederic: A Musical Conversation between Chopin and George Sand.

EMFjazz&blues collaborates with the Piedmont Blues Preservation Society and Yes! Weekly to present the 24th Annual Carolina Blues Festival.

The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra is collaborating with Our State Magazine and VF/Blue Bell Foundation to present POPS the Great American Songbook, putting a new spin on some of America’s greatest popular songs.

Triad Stage offers drama about music with: Ethel Waters: His Eye Is On The Sparrow. And the Cabaret at Triad Stage hosts the always compelling Touring Theatre of North Carolina performing Letters from Leokadia.

And the beat goes on with dozens of events and activities in our calendar and coming to this blog soon.
